Will Taylor is the writer of the well-known interiors blog Bright Bazaar which is always a riot of life enhancing colour, so if you like colour regardless of the style, Dream Decor is the book for you. And if you want to be in a with a chance of winning a free copy of the book, see the competition details below!
Eleven homes from around the world are showcased with ideas on how to bring elements of the look to your own interior, even if you actually live in a semi in the Midlands but have dreams of a Tuscan retreat, or aspire to urban loft living, there is always a way to bring that dream into your own home by capturing the essential something that speaks to you. The photos are inspiration enough but the text helps to pull together the essence for you to recreate. I’m not sure what is says about me but the two pages I’ve chosen to photograph come from the Hollywood Chic chapter!
I love everything about this library in the Hollywood Hills from the dark grey walls to the ochre leather sofa and the brass drinks trolley – the epitome of comfy glamour, and perfect for our grey climate.
The terrace from the same Hollywood house cannot be recreated in its entirety in good old wet England obviously but the idea of an enclosed terrace with large potted plants and comfy seating can and is something we can all take elements from to bring a bit of sunshine to our own back yards.
So, how do you get your hands on a free copy I hear you ask? Simple…
That’s it, good luck!
The book only launched a couple of days ago, but maybe you were seriously quick off the mark and have already received yours? If so, we’d love to hear what you think… which is your favourite house?
